Carol Simons - Biography

Hello my name is Carol Simons

Carol Simons - Biography

From my earliest memory I have had a passion for all things relating to art.
As a child I spent countless hours drawing and painting everything I could get my hands on.

I married young and started a family. At night while my babies slept I would
draw, paint, sew, and do crafts to satisfy my creative nature.

I signed up for night classes through the college. I knew that I had found my people. I felt like a sponge,  I couldn`t listen hard enough or read enough to satisfy my hunger to learn everything I could.
I wish I could say that from that moment on I had it, whatever it was. But I have to say that my learning curve has been long. I feel l still take away lessons from every piece I do.

My husband Roy and I have been married for 42 years this year. We have 3 awesome kids and 10 grandchildren that are the light of our lives.

I am largely a 'self taught' artist. I admit that I am a medium junkie. I love oil, acrylic, watercolor and pencil. I like to paint on canvas, paper, masonite, wood and sawblades. I can't think of anything that I would like to paint exclusivly. My subjects are limitless and include wildlife, seascapes, mountains, and portraits.

     update

We Have been here in Idaho for close to 4 year now . Besides missing all my friends and the ocean . I love Idaho, The changing seasons are my favorite thing. We have so much wildlife here on our place. It is amazing to look out and see Elk, Deer, Moose, andTurkey on any given day out in our fields.
It has been a while, but I finally have my new studio space. Roy cut blued pine lumber and he and I spent the winter making him a office and me a beautiful studio. It is so nice I almost hate to get it messed up (almost). We have spent most of the last few years cleaning up the place and remodeling the old farm house. It is going to be a ongoing project getting the old place the way we want. It's a good thing we both love renovating. Thanks for visiting my site.
